Red Book Error

I just picked up the 2003 Redbook a couple days ago and going thru it I found that the pages stop at #48, jumps to #129, continues to #144, then picks back up at page #65. It's complete from there on including pages #129 to #144 again. Pages #49 to #64 are missing. Anybody else have this "problem"? Something to look out for.

This kind of book manufacturing defect is not that uncommon. It happens occasionally in all kinds of books--hardcovers, trade paperbacks, mass market paperbacks--and all publishers. Take it back to the store where you got it, and they should replace it with a correct copy. They will then return the book to their supplier for credit. I don't think there is any collectible value for such a common defect that renders the book unusable.

My Redbook 56th ed appears to be okay, or rather, the problems you pointed out don't exist in my copy.

sell it on eBay for $1,000,000 because it's a super-major incredibly rare, one-of-a-kind error!

I tend to think like AirplaneNut. Maybe not sell it yet, but maybe keep it for posterity; maybe it is rare and potentially valuable. Who knows?
