ok.. my car has 6 speakers

i want a new cd player to replace the cr.p that i have now.. (a broken tape player.. lol).

i found a lot of good ones, but all are 50watts x 4 channels...
haven't seen ANY 6 channells.

does that mean that 2 of my speakers wont be working??

ilya, you should just get the entire package dude. It's worth it. Get new speakers, cd player, amp, etc. It sucks just getting part of it and you'll have two fu^ked up speakers and it wouldn't sound right. I have the top notch shizzle and it's definitely worth the money you'll have to dish out. I had to make payments on it, but I worked my a$$ off and payed it off eventually and enjoy every moment of it. You'll love it if you get the whole package.

by the way, could you d-load an entire cd for me? lmk

One of my close friends is an installer at Good Guys here in San Diego but is out of town for another week, I'll ask him when he gets back to make sure of this. I am 90 percent certain of this but there areno decks that are anythign great then #x4. My friend had 8 speakers in his car and ran a 50x40 head unit. What they do is just bridge some of the channels together. Trying not to get too technical but your back speakers might be bridged to one channel, your middle speakers would be bridged to one channel and then each of your fronts would have their own. Any combination of that will work. Best of luck.

derrick, i simply dont hve the money to get t he entire thing...
i want to replace my radio so i have something to listen to on the way to school... in the morning all radios eer have is just some dumb talk shows so basically i need a cd player that would last so i can use it when i get a new car, or upgrade the speakers... i found some nice sony, jvc, and kenwood for about $159 (plus installation kit which is around 30). i can afford that

my speakers are'nt very good, but they work, they're ok ya know.. no bass at all, but that could be because the radio/tape player itself doesn't have any bass controll... the new one will have that so i can add some bass maybe?
i might also in a month or so get 2 new speakers... that would be nice.. there's some nice 3way sony's 180watts for about 79 which is pretty cheap i think... however, it would be tough to replace speakers that are in the doors or in the side of the car (i have a hatchback, so the speakers are: 2 dash, 2 doors, and 2 on the side of the back seats).


my car is an 84' chrysler laser (turbo charged)... if you can find some info about what i can do with the 6 speakers, lmk... thanks to both of you!

Pick up a nice deck.. and goto a pawn shop and pick up a cheap 4 channel amp.
I think that would be your best way to do it.. and improve your sound.
