Hager would win because he'd fight dirty.

Gee, Russ, as far as I know there have been no major complaints. image

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

What if they were in ACG slabs?

That would be funny, seeing those two trying to encapsulate the other in their own slabs.image

it would end in a draw as they would reach the inevitable compromise and form a company called BBGS which would issue only body bagged coins with an assigned grade on the cute little baggy.

Keets: What a cool idea ... grades on bags to determine which are the most desirable of the (supposed) misfits ... You are on to something....
  • keetskeets Posts: 25,351 ✭✭✭✭✭
i've been on to that ever since i got my first bodybag. they might as well give a grade since they charge a charge for grading!!! DUH!! i know i'm not the first to ponder that and i'm sure it won't be the last time i ponder.

One way to make the fight fair is to make a big circle of slabs and whoever gets pushed out of the circle first is the loser.

Hager wins close split decision after 10-round slugfest.

Decision reversed when discovered that points awarded by ACG judges were not adjusted for reality before totalling.
  • If it was a wrestling match, hall would have a tough time putting him in any hold due to the ammount og grease on hagers hair. If it was a boxing match, hager wouldnt need any vasoline, he could use the grease from his hair.

  • You guys realize that Diane Hager is listed as da' boss at Accucrap, don't you. And, Al claims not to own Accucrap. So, this should be between homerunhall and Diane. I hear she can't rassle but you should see her box! image

  • Hey keets I'm with you on the not grading issue.I work in electronics repair and if you charge a customer for a service and don't do the service that should be considered fraud. I wonder if there are any lawyers here that might know some california law that could check into it.PCGS does'nt have to slab it if its to be bodybagged but they should at least grade it.If we charge a customer for a repair estimate and dont give them one and give them back their equipment that is illegal. Just my thoughts.

Pennies make dollars, and dollars make slabs!

....inflation must be kicking in again this dollar says spend by Dec. 31 2004!

Hall. He has a bigger and younger gang to cover his back. You might think Hager would win because his crew would use guerrilla tactics (don't want to be publicly associated with him) but they would be relying on falsely advertised equipment, incapable of reaching their supposed target grades, I mean distances, whereas, Hall's new recruits, striving for the all time finest fighting gear, are in better shape and better trained to win at all costs.

Please no one get offended; my scenario is offered "coin in slab" or rather "tongue in cheek."

Now let's hear the good version Truth.

Sorry guys, I like to have fun with quips and jokes and witty sayings as much as the next guy, but ...

to compare David Hall with Alan Hager is just plain cruel and unfair to David, and unthinking. David may be subject to some criticism for some of the things he does or doesn't do, but he has contributed nicely to the renewal of interest in coin collecting over the past several years. If it were not for him, would you have PCGS (please don't tell me the hobby would be better off without it), set registries that many of you seem to love, or a message board here to exchange views on coins? I could go on. David Hall has contributed positively to the coin hobby. In any case, to go on the PCGS message board and compare him to Hager just plain stinks, and imho is very juvenille. If you have a complaint about PCGS or Davbid Hall, present it in a civil way, for debate.

Let's be fair, no one deserves to be compared to Alan Hager, let alone David Hall. Alan is in a class (in a manner of speaking) by himself!

Aw c'mon, Gerry. You're just sore at Alan because he doesn't have a neat message board like this one.

  • I concur Gerry. This is another garbage thread just clogging up the board, just like the ones he started about meteors and mysterious illnesses. An idle mind I guess.

    hey acgdealer

just a little grammatical help for your signature

i believe you mean to write that pcgs was "cited" for violations, the only way the term "sited" might work is if they were actually relocated (say to prison or some such other "site").

    Toothpuller,

I find your comment interesting. Since I began posting for quite a while with many, many insightfull threads, you have failed to respond to those in kind, yet I throw up a garbage thread, and your quick to comment. Seems YOU prefer the garbage.

This was one of your more 'insightful' comments on a previous thread:

    Tuesday May 21, 2002 5:56 PM

"Just read an interesting article in the British Medical Journal Lancet dealing with a correlation between the need or urge to snipe and premature ejaculation. Toothpuller"

    You shouldn't throw stones.

    TRUTH
  • Ouch, truth I'm realing from that counterpunch. I'm a new member and have only seen your recent posts. I'm sure you have more to offer than those threads I mention. The retort that you quote was a comment directed to the borish snipe braggadocios who sound like sixteenyearolds boasting of their sexual prowess. A humerous, cutting comment but not waste of a new thread.

PCGS and ACG are not comparable companies. Why do you slur David Hall? He and PCGS may have their flaws but I consider him an asset to coin collectors especially those of us not as experienced and knowledgable as you. ACG is the opposite, preying on the newbies.

I thought if he was sited it meant that somebody seen him. Oh yeah, about the fight; I think they are both sissy boys and couldn't beat their way out of a wet paper bag. That guy from NGC would take both of them.

    Hager would win...

Remember... ACG slabs don't contain any PVC, which is soft... so he has a harder slab to use as a weapon, because EVERYONE knows that PCGS has PVC slabs image
