what was your worst trade?

Mine, I traded a Playoff Contenders David Boston RC/Auto and a Sign of the Times Terrell Owens in 2000 for a bunch of 2-5 dollar rookies. This was before Boston had his huge season.

happened to me to(he got a arod bat card), but I mean where the player that you got rid of went way up in price and the stuff you got dropped.
  • well if you also mean being ripped off, I traded $800 worth of cards (autos, jerseys, star rookies, etc) for a kobe auto, kg auto/jersey, marion jersey #d under 100, and some other nice jerseys, like duncan (exp. bv $40 on the others)
and I never got the dude's cards

and worst trade, I cant remember... probably when I traded a TMac Finest refractor rookie, I was very little into cards I didn't know what refractor is, I traded it for like a $5 duncan rookie
    I collect any D.Masons I dont have

why would you trade a contenders rc auto ticket and a sott auto of a star for a bunch of $2-5 rookies anyway?
  • mine wasn't a trade but sales on eBay.
I had alot of the nice 01 Sp Authentic Rookie Patches (Brees 3 color, atrain, Chmabers 3 Color) and got like 70 each for them. now some sell for like 150

and in a lot i auctioned off like 11 patches and 5 rookie autos and got 90 for it. with todays sales, i could of gotten 400 easily.

    DOUCHES!

ski-I was getting rookies in return, they weren't 2-5 at the time but they are now. Guys like Lewis, Redmond, Dayne, Warrick, and other older rookies. I didn't know alot about FB then since I mostly collected baseball.

Ahendi-You know who Art Monk is, right? Well, his son goes to school at SU(local college) so he's hooking me up with a signed 8x10 and football, since the Dean of the communications dept. is my neighbor, I got Mr. Mullins(dean of dept) to get me the autos! Pretty sweet eh?
  • At the beginning of the football season last year I sold a Tom Brady SP authentic and his Playoff contenders auto rc for 20 bucks with buy it now on ebay. I figured that was easy money. Little did I know what he was going to do last year and I still kick myself to this day about that one.

My worst trade would have to be the myriad of trades I made in middle school back in 1984 having to
do with me giving up Ripken rookies for Juan Samuel rookies!!

    ouch

Thats why I always love to buy lots and rarely sell cards that way, you do much better selling individually. You can't get every players name in the title, so the collectors of some of these cards will miss them, not everyone searches descriptions along with titles. As far as a bad trade, I know of one I will always remember that went the right way for me, traded a Ryan Leaf Ultra rookie for a Kobe Bryant Finest rookie, back in 98, the Kobe I sent to PSA and got a PSA 10!!!...the Leaf.....need I say more.........

  • Yanksfan- Art Monk is cool. I have a picture with him and at least 3 balls and a couple of 8x10 signed. I went to his football camp last year and I got them.

  • Some of you will be too young to remember this, but back in 1990 I traded my freind Louis a Frank Thomas Leaf rookie for a Blair Thomas (Jets first round draft bick RB) fleer rookie. The Frank Thomas exploded that year, went from like $5 to like $70 in 2 monthes. Blair Thomas is one of the biggest busts in NFL history.
