TuffStuff

I noticed their prices are a little different than Becket's. Is this an accepted price guide here?

  • TuffStuff Sucks

They just dont price stuff right, in some cases they have RCs too low and Inserts way too high. I kinda wish they would be a decent guide because you could just buy one guide each month and it list all the inserts and stuff that becket dropped

sucks isnt even the word....tuff stuff isnt accepted at all, it is a garbage price guide, total junk...try yo tell someone you card books 250 in tuff stuff and it only actualy books 150 in beckett, youd have a problem on your hands.
  • Tuff Stuff is to make lil' kids think they have a $200 card when they really have one that books $75
  • the only reason anyone likes it is b/c it prices all there cards higher
  • Hey,

Actually, as a whole Tuff Stuff is a better magazine. Better articles, more information, more news on what the hot products and cards are, team addresses and card company addresses, etc.....the price guide is just not accepted as a standard among most card traders. The prices in Tuff Stuff do tend to be pretty high compared to the going market prices.

While everyone is bashing Tuff Stuff, let's not forget that Beckett Prices are high also on almost every card!! Go sell your cards on E-bay (which is the biggest card marketplace in the world) and see if you get even 1/2 beckett prices for your cards if they are ungraded. The right answer is that E-bay is the best price guide for your sportscards......but use Beckett prices when trading.

  • For example. I pulled a Steve Francis 99 Press Pass SE Jersey #'d/500 out of a pack. The guy I bought it from looked it up in a Tuff Stuff which said 125$. When I got home I looked it up in a Beckett and it said 50$. I subscribe to both Beckett and Tuff Stuff. Beckett for the Price Guide and Tuff Stuff for the articles.
I'm looking for anything Yanks, any baseball autos, and much much more on my site. Thanks.

  • Use which ever price guide you want Beckett drops price like crazy and that sucks.....

Example this months Baseball Beckett all of Ishii's cards dropped and for what reason he still having great season.

Alot of the price's that TuffStuff has listed if you check back issue's of Beckett the card did book for the same price in his magazine when it first came out ....

TuffStuff does keep the price's on higher valued cards listed alot longer then Beckett ever though of doing...........

The market and most traders seem to only want to go by what Beckett has listed for price's.....I use them both If I think the card is worth the TuffStuff price more then Beckett's price I go with it.....

I want the most that I can get for my cards and I think everyone should too so don't just depend on Beckett for price's .............
    Ref's many

    Looking for Marino, Ripken Auto's,Gu & Rc's

  • Beckett is just a guide. Ebay is the real price guide because that's what people are actually paying for the cards image
