Need some help

HI: I am new to this stuff so please bear with me. I have thousands of sports cards, mostly hockey, all in excellent condition, but they have never been graded. I also have a bunch of non sports cards for sale, all in excellent condition, but also never been graded. The reason for not being graded is that I live in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario Canada and I will not just send them somewhere to be graded when some are worth good money. Therefore what I need the help with is that I don't know who would be interested in buying these cards that is honest and willing to deal honestly. I have tried to contact sport card companys and some dealers but the answer is that it would cost alot for shipping but I don't understand that if the cards are worth money. so if someone could help me with any advice it would be a real help.
