80's Special Turn-A-Round ? Any recieve theirs recently

I admit I am getting impatient (psa still has time its me) Just curious what time table to expect for the return of my cards. I submitted an ALL Boggs order for once( One McQwire for the GF), nothing to sell so this one was personal. I sent in some Boggs cards that have never been graded could that cause a hold up? Or is the site of so many Boggs cards scarry and the graders can only handle a few a day....lol

They Recieved the cards the 22nd Of July ( I am impatient after seeing 3 to 9 day turnarounds I am Jealous....lol)

Charlie Contacted me already .....I think I will give him a nick name "LightningCharlie"
He said "The odd Boggs cards were the problem with this order....".

But feel free to post your turnaround times. SO others get a feel how they are going.

  • I think we'll see longer lead times this month due to the National. I have an invoice pending that was received on 7/28. It will be interesting to see how fast they turn it. I'll be surprised if it grades out this week since a good chunk of their resources have been sent to Chicago.

  • I got one they received on the 26th of July back yesterday. I suggest that you call and whine gently. 1-800-325-1121.

I mailed out a 50 card submission on the 31st (for the $5 80's special)
and it was received (and input in the system) on Aug 5th...

I will let you know when the grades post.

(but I suspect things to be Very slow as a result of National)

  • My last 80s batch was at PSA for exactly a week. Very impressive! I sent in three invoices for the new special that all arrived yesterday (the 5th). I am hoping they are done in a week or two, but realize that is probably optimistic with the National this week.

If you submitted Boggs cards that the data entry person didn't recognixe, that could slow your order down. It gets sent to someone more knowledgable to research.

    Boggs-

If any of your Boggs cards have not been graded yet, expect delays in the turnaround times to support the research to confirm the existence/gradability/standards for grading your cards.

Though I love my 1985 Circle K Schmidt PSA 10 -- and many Fleer/Topps stickers/Topps Rubdowns, etc., they do take an extended period of time to grade. It would be nice if PSA would just believe your research (as I am sure yours is top notch), but remember that there are others who may have made mistakes....
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

    mikeschmidt,

Think about the phrase "It would be nice if PSA would just believe your research" and keep in mind that is exactly how PRO does it!

I'll take a little more time and diligence every time!!!

I thought PSA had all the cards .....whats the word?...?...ready to be all inputed and standards in place. Example I sent in an 1984 #636 (63?) A.L Leader card one complete half Boggs one complete half Rod Carew . How hard is that????? Topps tifanny Batting leader #131 . Again I dont think to difficult. Just a few examples nothing bazzare . Just no other die hard has submitted them befor.

  • I sent in 120 1980 Topps, got back 2 10's, 72 9's, 42 8's, and the rest 9PD's, 7's, and one 5.

I had a good offer on the bulk of it before I opened the box, and they are going out the door today.

I'd thought I'd gotten smoked because of all the 8's, but 9's appear to be pretty hard, and 10's are impossible.

I sent in two lots, checked in July 3rd. One took one week, one took three! Identical stuff, makes no sense really.

Well I kind of recieved my grades.PSA hasnt sent it to me but I figured most of them out. I saved the Pop report every few days. And I submitted 12 cards never submitted and 4 showed up in the Pop report and the others went up from 7 graded to 8 (example) SO I know there mine. I did ok so far 13 9's 6 8's two of the 8's I knew were 8's So I am pleased. Those were the 84 OPC's sent in I am the first , kind of suprised on that...those I submitted to have my 84 topps run there not in the Registry for Boggs.I am keeping my fingers crossed for a 10. My 87 Topps All star is a 9 or 10 the pop report went up one number for each grade. SO I not sure on that one. About 10 cards arent even listed in the Pop Report(never Been listed) so I dont know those.

Funny though they are showing up in the pop report and PSA hasnt sent me the grades?????????

  • Absolutely no offense intended, but you need to have a beer, or given who you are a fan of, perhaps half a roasted chicken.

I wonder if he still does that now that he's not playing?

Remember when it used to take 2-3 MONTHS? At least there has been drastic improvement over the last couple of years.
