Which of these could be the reason my cpu messes up?

Well, my computer keeps messing up after like 8 minutes I’m online, I stay connected but nothing loads…
(This page cannot be displayed) type of message
Like it says- opening page c:windowssystemshdoclc.dlldsnerror.htm
I had corrupted files- dll’s and the user.exe… which I went to my friends, he has same Windows as I do… I copied his files that were corrupted on mine… I deleted mine and put those on there… then it kept doing the same thing, so I read that shdoclc.dll that it try’s to load, and copied his and put it on here… and it still does mess up.
Could it be-

Virus? I downloaded a free online virus scanner and it sent me an email saying that it checked and there was no virus… this was about a month ago and I don’t think it worked.

Modem messed up? I don’t think it is… but it could be… it took me like 15 times last night to get connected just once… and it brings up error codes 718, 629, and 678 after dialing and not connecting.

Messed up file? Well, I got that user.exe from my friend… I deleted my original and put his on here… and I went to run SFC (system file checker), and it said my user.exe was corrupted (again? How if I got this from some1 else)?
I collect any D.Masons I dont have

  • if i were you... i would wipe that hard drive and start fresh. Copy the files you want on a cd or on another harddrive... redo your windows... download the latest version on IE or netscape.
  • You may have too much on your CPU or maybe if you have Kazaa or something else, it may be sucking up all the resources so the internet cant perform its normal operations. Its really hard to give advice about this without being there but LMK if this helps.
Rest in peace Josh, we'll all miss you
  • in order words, you getting DNS errors. You may want to clean your cache. You have to do it from your MSDOS command. I'll get the exact command and re-post it. That may not be a dll error. Your system may be just re-loading the cache instead of re-looking up the IP addresses to websites.

I thought I had the same problem when switching the domain over to the new server. Some people were able to connect, but I was getting DNS errors.
