the mint made a set of Leif Ericson $ & 1000kn.
I have a proof set fron the mint and have both coins in PCGS PR-69 DCAM. I also have a MS-69 of the $.
Did the mint have a BU set?
Has PCGS slabbed a MS 69 for the 1000kn?

I also have all three coins in PCGS holders and all graded at 69. I think those are the full set of the Ericsons.I don't believe they made a MS in the 1000kn.Just the proof.With the low mintage of these coins I am surprised they haven't appreciated more than they have...Do you think they ever will?......Pat

PS both my proofs are 69DCAM and the other is MS69

The mint did NOT make an MS version of the 1000KR coin.

The US Mint didn't make the proof version either. Just sold it as part of a joint promotion. I'm sure the US Mint's sales of the proof coins are only a small portion of the total mintage.

Are you sure the US mint didn't mint the Icelandic version of the coin? I thought they minted them and sold then in Iceland also?

The COA that for the set says that it was produced by the US Mint (Philadelphia) on behalf of the Republic of Iceland.
