An example of why it's dangerous to judge a coin by a scan.

Now, when you look at the above coin, it gives a pretty good first impression. Some mint frost at the top and bottom, but not too bad. Pretty and deep mirrors, nice cameo. Not a bad piece. It also looks pretty good in person, until you get down and dirty.
It has massive hairlining in the fields, and I mean massive. If you view the coin straight on, they're invisible. Matter of fact, they're invisible from many angles. But, angle it just right, and you get treated to nasty clusters both on the right, and the left.
I may send it in for grading anyway, though, just to get an idea of how bad they have to be before a coin gets bagged.

It was truly amazing.
You never know. If I submit it with a couple similar that have no hairlines, it might get past that 3 to 4 second careful scrutiny by the grader.

Hairlines on coins are like hairy warts on swimsuit models Whew that makes a nasty mental image. LOL
