This auction smells to high heaven, even in an older holder this coin is no where near that value. Look at the bidders, they have all bid on multiple cheap items from this seller in the past.

Doesn't make much sense unless the bidder see's the older holder and thinks the coin might be upgradable. It probably isn't but it looks like that me be the answer or someone really wants these MS66 coins right now????

Same seller has a 79-S that has also been bid up to over $500 (and hasn't met the reserve).....the 79 looks better (at least in the crappy scan), but as IrishMike pointed out, even with an upgrade to 67, the coins are barely worth the current bid (plus shipping, grading fees, etc). I smell a rat....

What blows me away is if you point this out to eBay they will calmly say "What is your proof"? Well, duh! Do you really need proof or can common sense make sense for a change?!

Ah, I still wait for the Justice Dept. and / or SEC to swoop down on eBay and put a stop to all the shenanigans! One day...you read it here first.

Just the fact that the seller is supposedly home based in Singapore is sufficient to cause me alarm. It seems an unusual place to purchase US Coins from. 2ndly, there just isn't a whole lot of info in the auction, no sales pitch, no nothing; yet someone has shot the bid up to $800??????
