PSA just listed a vintage invoice I had submitted last month. The cards were basically flotsam and jetsam, recent raw purchases, and crossovers. Among them was a 1955 Topps Joe Collins that I submitted seeking a six, then to decide whether to use it to complete the Registry Set. Either I'm too tough on my stuff or Ray Charles is now grading 50's vintage because it came back a seven! That completes my 1955 Topps Registry! Breakdown: 5 sevens, 200 eights, 1 nine. And all the time I can take to upgrade.
As those of you who are putting sets together know, the task cannot be completed without some enormous outside help. Among those is Jim Hoffman for selling me some real tough toughies over the past year. Without his unique assistance the set would be far from complete. Thanks Jim.
And now for the the icing on the cake. I cracked an old SG 92 NM/MT+ 1960 Fleer Ted Williams that was absolutely 50/50 with white/white borders. I was sure it would come back trimmed, or recolored, or body-bagged for some other disease because it was a pre-SGC graded card and they're always a gamble. To quote Gomer Pyle, "SHAZAAM!" It came back a nine!
Right now I'm happier than a pig in mud.

I should have mentioned it's the DAF Collection and stands #4 All Time and Current. I doubt if it will rise any higher, but I couldn't be more proud of it in any event. My best card is a #82 Chuck Harmon in PSA 9 - pop one - which I purchased well over twenty years ago at a local show for peanuts.
