I would like to start collecting Britannia's

I am highly interested in collecting these Britannia coins that I have been seeing in people's icons. Like the icon I just changed to. The problem is I know nothing about them. Where are they minted? How long have they been around?Who collects these on the boards? And any other info that someone is willing to share would be a great help before I go out and purchase one of these beautiful coins.

PandAmerica sells these, I'm not able to create a link but Cosmicdebris can also help in addition to Trazou.

Talk to Bill (cosmicdebris); he just recently put together a collection of proofs. I asked for them at the Royal British Mint table at the ANA convention; they didn't have any (MS or PR).
