I have some Chipper doubles that you might be interested in...(rookies, etc.)...and about your question..I sure as hell hope they sign the both of them again, but it would definitely be kind of depressing to see the both of them go...or even ONE of them go. If I had a choice of which one I'd want to stay...it would have to be Maddux. Maddux is one of the greatest of all-time, and so is Glavine...but it seems as though Maddux is more consistent. not to mention he's dynamite with his glove. (12 straight gold glove awards) and he's always down there in the race for the best ERA...and he's won his share of ERA titles as well. Glavine is great and if he did go, I'd like to see him play for the Red Sox since he's from Boston and that's who he rooted for as a kid. But, hopefully they'll stay Braves for the rest of their careers...and I'm sure the both of them want to stay because of the success and winning atmosphere. image

  • When your only pitching 5 innings 90% of your starts it's a lot easier to keep a low ERA. That's why all the pitcher talk has focused soley on the Diamondbacks duo in the area of dominance. Maddux is still good, but not comparable overall to a Schilling or Johnson based on recent stats other than the ERA and the other 2 go 7-8 innings and even complete a reasonable number of games for modern day pitchers. For the Braves it would be wise to focus on Maddux and let Glavine go to the Yankees like all the other teams do with the good players that would take up too much cash and not allow them to resign/sign offense and defense in other areas beyond pitching (ex:Wells, Clemens, Weaver). The Braves have Moss and Millwood as well as a couple of prospects that could fill in and keep the Braves at the level they currently play at.
