These are two of my favorites:

Neither is even my highest graded example for the year. But, the first one I made myself, and the second was a screaming good deal from a board member here.image

A lot of the very best 70's have a very distracting die polish right
in front of the ear. Your's appears to not have it. Very nice. '69
    isn't bad either.

Nice coins Russ. I love the look of your pictures. They always showcase my favorite modern. Hey cladking, is that what the hairline behind the ear in the field is? I've seen it on bunches of coins, and assumed it was a LDS problem.

Yummmy! I'm going to pull my 92 silver proof set out for another piece of eye candy. If I recall it had a full set of DCAMs. Maybe that will help ease my urge for a DCAM cent from the 50's, but I don't think soimage

I think we're talking about different things. The one I've seen on a lot of
monster cameo 70's is right about the center of the coin and looks a little
like a wide shallow scrape. They're from the same die. I don't know how
many dies made these monsters, but doubt it's a large number.

Russ, you should do a mint state set of JFK's to go with your proofs. I know you prefer the proofs, but the MS coins would be a perfect compliment to your proof set.

I just compared a 1969 to a 2002, and was astounded at the differences in relief. The 69's are sooooo much nicer image
