Look at the Pop Reports Now!

I looked to see if the fixed the pop reports... well they certainly changed but I wouldn't call them fixed. There are now thousands of MS69 state quarters, and a handful of MS70 coins!

LOOKING FOR 1931-s merc that is nice for the grade and fb
  • The pop reports are still not correct. Several coins recieved back from PCGS within the last two weeks are no longer in the pop reports. (Jefferson 1938S MS65FS pop1 is an example)

This appears to be an older version.

I thinbk they should make them un-available vs. available and wrong. Someone could make a costly mistake.

I agree with Brian. Even if you don't make a mistake based on the erroneous data, you can waste a lot of time, checking around to find out who has this or that coin when in reality it is just a data base error.

As a general rule, data should never be released unless someone (human eyes) looks it over to verify there hasn't been a mistake. This situation with their on-line pop report reflects very badly on PCGS.

I agree with Gerry about the pop report. This could not possibly be a better example of out of control systems at PCGS. While it is tough to redesign systems and sometimes it takes a while to work out the bugs, they would be far better off not providing any data at all rather than wrong data.
