Books on Franklin halves??

I am starting a set of Franklin business strikes and wondering if any of you good folks here on the light side might be able to suggest a reference text for the series. I have been intrigued by the Franklin half since I was a kid but over last several days, since I started reading Franklin's autobiography, I decided to learn more about the coin and put some effort into putting together the set. Where can I find more info?

Rick Tomaska has a very authoritative guide to the Franklin series, which is his specialty. A new edition is expected shortly. It contains background info about the series, and a date-by-date analysis.

"The Complete Guide to Franklin Half Dollars," by Rick Tomaska. You can get it at Stanton Books and Supplies or, probably, from R&I Coins (which Rick owns and runs).

You MUST visit the R&I Coins site, if Franklins are your thing. Rick is the king in that area.

You'll also want to read "An Analysis of Gem Franklin Half Dollars" by Jack Ehrmantraut, Jr. It's an excellent source of information even though it was published in the 80's.
