Question about the registry set freebie submissions.

Anybody know if there is any limitation on the number of sets in the same category? The description doesn't say anything about it one way or the other, and the customer service gal I talked to seemed a little clueless. Already got my five freebies for my first Kennedy set. Once a couple coins arrive, I'll be over 90% on my second set.

Can I get five more freebies for my second set?

Yes , you can . There's not a limit for the number of sets you can have in one category , to get the free submissions on. E-Mail Gayle if you have any questions on this. She's been a great help to me , and I did just what you're contemplating.

If you post a 90-percent or more complete registry set, you receive five free submissions. I recently sent in five proof Jeffs, the submissions I received for posting my set, and am still awaiting the grades.
  • But the set has to be posted all at one time, you do not get the freebies if you have a set
you keep adding to and reach %90 and no you can not delete your set then enter it
again to get the free submissions

Not true. It doesn't have to be posted all at one time. You can build it one coin at a time, and when you reach 90% you get the freebies.

  • That is what they told me today when I called customer service??

  • I talked with Gayle and she said they had to be post at one time??
I told her I did not think this was fair and she said to send BJ an e-mail
because that is the current rule.

  • Free Grading. We recognize that not every coin in every important collection has been graded by PCGS. In order to encourage participation in the PCGS Online Set Registry program we are offering five free grading submissions for anyone who would like to register a new set. To qualify, sets must be at least 90% complete, PCGS graded. After validating your new set, you must contact customer service within five (5) days in order to take advantage of this free offer. These free submissions are for coins within your new set that are either "raw" or graded by another grading service that you would like to "crossover." Your five free submissions for each set need to be submitted at one time.

    Tim,

All I know is that I had no problem getting my five freebies, and I built the set a coin or two at a time, not registered all at once.

  • In the past according to Gayle that was okay, but she said some had abused the
system and they were changing, maybe BJ can shine some light on this
I agree with you,I am at %83 on my merc set an would like to get the submissions
    also.

I agree with Russ ; my sets were built a few at a time , and not entered all at once ; must be a new rule that I haven't encountered yet , as for sure , it didn't used to be like that.

If it is a new rule, it's a profoundly stupid one. Other then people with a lot of money to blow, who buys every coin at once and then registers their set? Even if I could do that, I wouldn't. Half the fun is building piece by piece and watching the collection grow with each new acquisition.
