So clean it almost looks fake. Looking at my Large Cents it is hard to believe they were ever red.

Beautiful coin, he took three years to find it. I wonder why he is selling on Ebay and not a major show?

I think that is the guy Shylock got his beautiful FE cent from a while back.

look at his other listings. Esp. the 3 legged buffalo and the trime. Gorgeous coins.

All his coins are outstanding! Check out his 3-Legged. Usually these come flat with grayish tone but not this one! I also love that 3cent silver.
    Wonderful coins!

How do you save something for almost 150 years and still have it look like the day it was minted?
    Fantastic coin.

  • I haven't seen many large cents. I've never seen one so clean and red. Do you think dabigkahuna is right? That is do you think this coin was curated?

Look at this PR66RD Two Cent Piece he's selling! It looks DCAM as well as red! If it weren't so far outside my budget, I'd be bidding.

As Goose3 mentioned I bought a knockout 1857 FE from this seller a while back (which he spotted for me). These latest offerings confirm my suspicions -- he's got a great eye and is a selective buyer. My only minor critique: he finds just the right angle to capture the maximum reflection, making it look almost fake as dbldie55 said. The FE was imaged the same way, but I took that into consideration when bidding and still was extremely happy with it.
  • Curated or not they are some awsome looking coins!
