Hi All,
I just got back from the bourse and it has been a wild two days. I was there for the opening ceremonies and went on the bourse at 10:00 on Wed. I bought some nice franklin halves in MS65 FBL (my specialty). It seemed to me that common date gold coins and MS type coins were hot. At 12:00 I went and checked out some of the exhibits, there are many good ones. After that I met up with ANA Education Director Gail Baker, she is very polite and we talked for a few minutes.
On Thursday I went back to the bourse and started looking for Civil War Tokens(my other specialty). There were many exonumia dealers but the prices for CWT's have skyrockected in the last few years so I only bought 4, three of them were unc. I also bought a book by David Bowers called American Coin Treasures and Hoards for $40, is that a good deal? I give my next report on Sunday and then again I'll give a more indepth report on Monday when I get home.
Until Sunday,
Steven C.
