Multiple Listing of Same Coin

How many people can buy the same coin? Here is the same coin listed several times. I've only listed two of the 3 or 4 auctions where the same coin is shown. Am I missing an important selling strategy? It certainly gives be pause as a buyer. Seems like the seller doen't really think the thing will sell.

This seller has always been a complete idiot. I would never touch any of his junk.

I've seen this happen several times. The person posts the same picture across auctions. They likely have several at the same grade and you won't get what you see. I bought a buffalo and ike that I assumed was the same in the pic. It wasn't. The serial numbers didn't match the photos. Thankfully, the slabs that were sent were acceptable.

Winning bidder will receive a coin of the same denomination, year, grade, and slab as the one shown here.
So I would guess it's not the exact coin shown in the picture.

it's not the same coin. he says at the bottom that the buyer will receive the same denom, grade, and slab as shown - but not necessarily the same coin.

he must have picked the ugliest one of the bunch for the pic...

Thanks, Baccaruda. Being a by-product of the southern rural education system, I didn't (couldn't!?) read the fine print. If this is the best coin I'd hate to see the others.

  • What is "a coin of the same ... slab as the one shown?"image
Literally, it means the same slab, not the same grading company.

I don't care if Bluemoon's auctions do sometimes end up having a good price, I would never buy anything from this guy. I don't know whether the fact he uses stock pictures (and until recently admitted this fact) but I really think it's his creepy photo and his "Random Thoughts" that freak me out.

  • Some listings do show the same coin from other or previous auctions. I think some people are too lazy to scan the actual coin and just use a stock picture. There really is no excuse for that. I did buy one coin from this seller, but it was a dirt cheap US Constitution commemorative. His auctions usually carry a reserve and I noticed that his descriptions seem a little jaded. I was in southern Washington State two years ago and I guess I could have dropped in on this seller to see what type of business they were operating.
