All of the lots just show the starting price with no progression on the bidding as bids are added. What is it a silent auction?

It's through EBay Live, which accepts preliminary bids until the start of the auction, when it goes live. When live, you'll see bid progression, and have a chance to bid at the last minute. Each lot closes rather quickly, but since the sale progresses lot by lot, you'll have ample time to prepare.
