New Free Grading Policy

This should be a real positive public relations move going into the Nationals. Way to go BJ and the gang for getting it right. It's right on the mark in my opinion. This is a perk that nobody should have a complaint with.

The new policy reads:

NEW! Free Grading Benefit
Effective immediately, the free grading benefit no longer requires a set to be NEW and customer service contacted within 5 days of listing. Now, whenever your set reaches 75% complete, regardless of when you may have first listed it, you are entitled to the following free grading benefits:

If the set composition is 1-50 cards you are entitled to 1 free grading.
If the set composition is 51-150 cards you are entitled to 2 free gradings.
If the set composition is 151-300 cards you are entitled to 3 free gradings.
If the set composition is 301+ cards you are entitled to 5 free gradings.
Free gradings are for cards within the set that has reached 75% completion. All cards must be submitted at one time. If your set has reached 75% complete and you have not previously received free grading for this set, please contact setregistry@collectors.com for an authorization code. No free gradings will be permitted without this authorization code, so be sure to write the number down on the top of your submission form.

Thanks.

I think that's fair. I'm glad that 5 day rule is gone.

This confirms what I have suspected all along...BJ is really Joe Orlando image

  • The only thing they should change is to make a minimum sized set requirement. They list the first one at 1 to 50 cards. There are some "sets" they have listed that only contain 3 or 4 cards. Free grading is fine, but for a guy completing a 3 or 4 card set, I don't see a need for it. I think they should start it at 10 to 50.

If someone is so crazy that they are going to try to "burn" PSA for a free grading because they've done a 4-card set, I suspect that this person will be unique or nearly so, and PSA can absorb the trivial cost.

When PSA goes out of business based on the costs associated with this new policy...there's going to be hell to pay!

Don't you know? Joe Orlando is from Texas. His real name before he was President of PSA was Billy Joe Orlando. When he became president of PSA he then went by Joe and still does the Set Registry under BJ.
The new policy is the right thing to do.

    Alan,

    How nice of you!

However, I have intercepted your package to PSA and will submit them on MY behalf!

    Nice '52 Mantle you HAD!

  • John

Thay might be so, but Alan broke the Mantle out of a PRO holder.

    Can you handle the rejection?

BJ was extremely quick in issuing me my free gradings. Thanks to PSA and to the guys here who proposed and promoted the idea!
