Duplicated PCGS Cert Number

PCGS Cert #5012026

Here (and on PCGS cert verification) it's a 1995 DDO Lincoln:

Here it's a 1924 Saint in a rattler:

Anybody have any theories as to what the deal is? PCGS database error? Is one of these a counterfeit holder?

Good question. Definitely one to send PCGS a question on.

Interesting. On the PCGS website, the cert number brings up the 1995 MS68RD penny.

    According to google AI:

While it is not official policy, veteran collectors on the PCGS Collectors Forums have noted that there are a very small handful of historical instances—specifically dating back to some older submissions in the _5,000,000 _series—where minor system errors or cross-over glitches caused a small run of cert numbers to accidentally overlap or mismatch.

Before I read your thread I assumed it would be a coin with cert starting 50. There have been some database errors on PCGS coins in that cert range that have been found for at least two decades, if I recall correctly, and we have had several threads on the boards about those database errors.
