I "give" halves and dollar coins to tip jars and street musicians.

    I gave a guy a 1964 silver quarter.
Oh and I gave away a 1oz silver Odin coin to someone who won a warhammer 40k side competition, he had the most wins against the organized team after the season. So he got a prize for beating the try hards.

I do a monthly free coin giveaway on my YouTube channel. Easy way to attract new viewers and it's fun.

Also giveaway a lot of coins to the local coin clubs and to kids when I'm set up at coin shows. I was given some coins as a kid when attending my first coin show and it made an impact. Always try to do the same for someone else.

More recently though, I gave the guy in the McDonald's drive thru a Trump Dollar since I know he collects

Just gave away some I listed on the forum last month. And I have no problem dumping coins back in to circulation.

I have given away many coins over the years on this forum, mostly to YNs. Many of those giveaways are quite valuable now.

    Cheers

18 grandchildren get a silver eagle every year. Who knows if their parents put them in the Dansco albums with them ? They never show and tell.

I gave each of my 22 nieces and nephews a silver Eagle for Christmas 2001. They were a lot cheaper then. The coins, not the kids.

I like to put Buffs and the occasional Liberty Nickel into vending machines. Dumped a bunch of modern proofs once too...

    Probably both

I donate a couple of $25 dollar coins a year to my coin club yearly auction. Sometimes when I find a YN in my club, I'll take a look at their albums and occasionally buy a slightly better date coin to fill it, like a VG or F 1926-s cent. I've given away some low grade bust dimes. Once an old friend's son had a strong interest in a nice Fine Bust Dime, slightly better date I happened to be carrying around. I just gave it to him. He did a school report on it.

Yes, as often as I can. Neighbor YNs, folks who get married/have babies/graduate, coin club giveaways, and anyone else who expresses an interest. Inno dollars, ASEs, and cheap slabs are my go-tos.
    .
While not a giveaway, for several years I paid for my Girl Scout cookies with Sacagawea dollars. The young girls were thrilled at the "gold dollars" and came back every year. Then we moved, and I offered to pay for my Girl Scout cookies with "gold dollars." The Mom told me, "No thank you! Do you know how much those things weigh?" :D

If we were all the same, the world would be an incredibly boring place.

I volunteer at my church's Conversational English class. Once a year, I give a presentation on coins tot he class and that becomes the evening's topic of discussion. I normally give out an obsolete coin (eg. an Australian 2 cent piece) to everyone present as a souvenir.

I did this one a few years ago. An old Redbook, a Whitman folder and a roll of random wheat cents.

Just hope some young kid found it.
