    White slab - NGC.
    Grey, blue slab - dealer.

The question is, "Which better represents the coin in hand?"

I like the one on the right.

The one on the left is the NGC pic and it shows more details such as scuffs and contact marks than the dealer pick on the right.

It takes about six seconds to do a lookup on NGCs website, in case anybody is not sure which is which.

Yeah, NGC on the right and it seems to be a better representation of the coin IMO. 😎

The dealers photo looks more like a cleaned coin 😎

And here it is in hand. Sellers picture is ridiculously different than reality. Makes me think he was trying to make it look better than it was, at least in his own mind.

In my mind, it made it look questionable.

You’re making the assumption that the NGC image is representative of the coin in hand and as we all know their photography leaves a bit to be desired at times.

I think that, when interpreting photos, people often indulge in a bit of mindreading.

I’ll defer to you since you have it in hand, but there are plenty of classic coins with deep toning that become much lighter when directly illuminated, and in the dealer’s photos you can see light reflections showing the coin is illuminated that way. In those cases I tend to take two photos to show both versions, but the main point is there are coins where one photo is not enough to show how the coin looks in hand when it’s moved.
