Anyone know much about 1981 Topps Coca Cola prototypes?

I have 3 prototype sets. The numbers on the prototypes are different than their normal 1981 Coca Cola cards. My question is - does anyone know how to tell the difference between the packs that are prototype vs a regular pack? Of course most of the packs you can tell by the player showing. But if it's one of the same as the prototype cards, how to tell?

Also, I am open to buying the 4 card prototype sets if anyone has any available.

I know the Nolan Ryan promo is #1 and is very hard to find. Other than the numbering I don’t think there is a difference but could be wrong. As far as packs go that I have no idea..

I was going to chime in on the only difference in the Ryan is the numbering. they are quite sought after.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

They are pretty regularly on ebay. There has also been a pretty good discussion on net54 about them, including a guy who posted a really cool uncut sheet of all of the team prototype sets, including the unissued Yankees one.

Thanks for the information. I actually have Phillies, Mets, and two sets of Yankees but one set is without the header.

Here's the link to the Net54 thread:

There's a lot of good information there. Hope it helps!
