Probably my favorite US type. Grade and TV just popped for this one and I thought it would make for a fun GTG. I’ll post grades tonight…..

    Ms 65, nice coin 🪙

Small pics but I think they depict a coin near the MS-64 grade level.

Not enough flash for a 65 so my guess is 64.

Attractive coin and it might look better in hand. 63-64 seems the most probable grade outcome

Looks like a pretty clean example.
I’ll guess 64 also, but shot 65 if the luster is stronger in hand.

Nice one. There are a few light contact slide marks on the neck and cheek.
    So I will guess MS64.

That’s a very nice Barber quarter! Looks really clean and appealing so I’ll say 65, though I wouldn’t be surprised by 64.

I see it as a 65. I think the luster is too nice for 64.

Great looking quarter that Id be happy to own. I see chatter on the neck and cheek. I am going a grade lower than most at MS63+

65 or 66. Depends how heavily that mark coming down from the ear is weighted.

What about the hit at the lower right portion of the neck?

This coin actually was cracked out of a 64 holder (not by me). Check it out. It was auction at Stacks recently…..

Apparently whoever won this coin thought it was a 65, or just struggled with what to do with it, because he cracked it out and apparently brought to an LCS to help him resubmit but ended up trading the cracked out version for something else he liked. I bought the coin raw (for about half of that auction price….so not sure what that trade entailed but I was thrilled to buy it raw at that price regardless of any prior grading history as I know the series and loved the luster, strike (usually strong on this date but this one’s hammered), and I overall eye appeal. FWIW the shop still actually had the PCGS label from the crackout so I know for a fact it’s the same coin.

In hand, I could absolutely see 65 on the right day (certainly 8 days a week before 62), but if I had owned it raw in the 64 holder I would’ve sent to CAC as it was as I like it as a choice 64 a lot.

Anyways, the grading game always has its ups and downs. I’ll get this entire submission to CAC asap and dare to think this one might actually have a good shot to gold sticker. I’ve been a Barber quarter guy for years and with a monsoon of respect to our hosts (who I use a lot and will continue to use) this is absolutely not a 62 imho.

I think the graders might’ve been served divorce papers just before reviewing my submission. Just for kicks, here were the other 2:

MS 63 DMPL (I thought had a good shot at 64)

MS 64 PL (I liked it for DMPL but I know it’s tough)

Anyways, thanks to all for weighing in. I know grading is tough from pics but appreciate the input!

Grading is very subjective but in a short period of time I would expect the grades perhaps not to be the same but also not to be off by two points.

MS 64. Per the photo wonder if it needs a dip.

Just can’t see it as a 65. Dullish look - look at sm scratches on neck. It’s almost covered w darkish grey areas.

Guess the grade threads are for guesses before the grade is revealed.
