New NBN joins the family

Been a while so I thought I'd share a recent pickup for "my" area. I've been looking for an upgrade for the Wellston MO large size $20 that I've owned for some time. Scotsmans's had a nice $10 in their auction last week that fit the bill. With 15 LS in the census this is hardly a rarity, but the larges don't come up that often and most that I've seen have been in wretched condition. This note is probably as nice as the 3rd or 4th note in the census. A hard fold at the center is a distraction, but the note seems otherwise original and crispy. Also its got violet sigs while my 20 has the more typical black ones.

Wellston is in St Louis County which has been separated from the City since the 1800s but is part of the StL metro area. The County hosts 6 banks of issue, 3 in Clayton, and one each in Maplewood, Manchester, and Luxemburg. Manchester is of course the "rare" one, but now a little less so after 3 #1 RSs remerged a few years ago.

Now if I could just find upgrades for my type 2s which also seem elusive. What fun.

Always interested in St Louis MO & IL metro area and Evansville IN national bank notes and Vatican/papal states coins and medals!

    Excellent pickup! Congratulations.

As an aside, I'm collecting a list of shops and auctions to check for Oklahoma NBNs, and I had forgotten about Scotsman. I just added them.
