Question About Splasher/Cliche of 1797 Campo Formio Medal

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this piece? It appears to be an obverse splasher/cliche for
Benjamin Duvivier’s Treaty of Campo Formio medal of 1797. It seems to be made of lead or tin and on the obverse has the Bust of Napoleon Bonaparte with a legend surrounding. The reverse is blank but appears to have remnants of original newspaper backing and three red wax drops. The obverse appears very close to the finished medal.

Below you will find an image of the obverse and reverse of the piece.

Thanks,

Roman
