Hello forum,
I haven’t logged in and reacted to anything since August 2020 lots going on then for me and I don’t have much to contribute, I’ve lurked in everyday to check out page 1. The 250th perked me back up though.
I decided to look back through a coffee can of cents my dealer Gave me in 2009 all I found then was two nice MS ish 09 V.D.B.and nothing else to speak of and I was floored finding these two 28’s with large S they’re both around 30 with unfortunate spots.
I can’t believe I missed them the first look .

Many years ago, I read on these forums about the 28-S large mintmark variety. I found and obtained one each of PCGS graded 1928 cents with standard and large S.
Since then, I very rarely hear anything about this topic. I did not see a premium at the time I was looking for mine. There just doesn't seem to be any demand for them. Still a neat item.
Its a required coin in Lincoln sets with varieties.

I always liked the 28-S Large S Cent. It makes up a minority of the mintage for San Francisco Cents in 1928.
I also like the Lage S mystery. It has never been found on any other date other than 1928.
Where did it come from?
