I have no idea about this set - done by Donruss: LINK
Card #34 ("Next Time I'll Fly the Kite!") is the ultimate key card in the 1966 Donruss Marvel Super Heroes set. It is treated by collectors as Spider-Man’s "rookie card" because it is the first numbered card in the set to feature him. (Google)
And what would this full box go for?
When a pack went for this!

@mbothner Wow those packs are Ultra rare. Very inspirational and one of the coolest wax RIPS I have seen in a long time. I'd be interested in purchasing some of your centered ones if interested. I have the 1975 and 1976 Topps marvel super heroes stickers boxes. I might open a few of the 1976 packs to see if I can hit the Punisher "ROOKIE" sticker.

I would consider selling either the off-center cards or either of the gum stained cards but the centered cards are going to psa for grading.
Those 70s Marvel boxes look familiar. I recall way back when selling off a couple of those and shipping them to Tampa to a fella by the name of Steinbrenner. Good times.
The convention that card #1 (in this case #34) has all the value in a set from the same year because it is the rookie is strange to me. I understand when it has a bio of the character and tells the story on the back calling it the rookie. In this case there is no real difference on card #34 than the other Spider Man cards all from 1966 and really nothing to make it more special than the others. Why aren't they all Spider Man rookies?
The same argument could made about the three (3) 1984 Star Michael Jordan cards. The lowest numbered card of Michael Jordan #101 is considered a rookie, and not the higher numbered Jordan cards in the 1984 Star set.

Mine is a beater, but I think those still go for $1,000, which is crazy.
With the price of card 34 over 53k on day 2, I thought I would open 2 packs for a shot at a 34. It didn't happen. I hit a 33 in both packs.

What was the previous record for a PSA 9 of this card? I see it's only a pop 10.
The only reason I ask is because bidding on the current PSA 9 on eBay is up to $77,000 with 3 days to go!

The boat was sold also. That's the bigger news.

Beautiful card.
Sold for 175k. A PSA 9 sold a few years ago for 3k buy-it-now.
Should have sold for a million
