I was just checking on the progress of the latest “new” Cleveland Browns Stadium facility and learned a funny fact. In order to meet guidelines due to the closeness of Cleveland Hopkins Airport and not pose a threat to air traffic the playing field will be 80 feet below ground level.
This means that after residing in the basement of the NFL’s AFC North Division for what seems like decades the Browns will now be able PLAYING in the basement.
Poetic justice!!!

went to a Browns game back in 2013
was a great experience
loved the stadium, loved where it was situated (next to Erie, so we were enjoying cool lake-effect winds), drunkest fans i've ever seen
had Trent Richardson on my fantasy team that season, so i had a rooting interest.............talk about a bust
That stadium looks newish… what seems to be the problem? Other than all the empty seats.

The facility they play in now is less than 30 years old.

Well… that falls within the scope of newish in my book while passing the straight face test.

They met local resistance and then the State Legislature got involved. When the current stadium was built and a new team awarded there was a clause that the team couldn’t be moved outside of the Cleveland city limits. So much for legal documents.
