Randy Holder - Grading Barber Halves

When I found coins for sale on Ebay circa 1999-2000, the coin collecting urge struck again after being dormant for 15 years. I didn't know what I wanted to collect, until I found Randy Holder's page - Grading Barber Halves.

Randy had six or seven examples of key and semi-key date Barber halves in F15-VF30. The worn, circulated two tone, natural silver just grabbed me and I knew right then and there what I would collect. I have now been collecting Barber Halves for 26 years.

Randy helped guide me and let me know the best key and semi-key dates, including selling me a XF40 1904-S ($750.00). I always hoped someday I would find that coin that hooked me onto Barber halves. And I found it 26 years later.

Anybody know Randy, or what happened? Is he still with us?

Fantastic! I remember Randy very well and think I saw a listing of his on ebay a few months ago.

    That's a wonderful 97-O.

That reminds me, someone used to host a site for Barber Half Dollars (it may have been their collection) with the theme from Gladiator playing in the background. I used to visit that site all the time.
