I have some information somewhere - I will look for it.
From memory:
They were produced by US National Metals, Inc. in 1975-1976 at the request of a Rico resident.
There are actually 9 medals in the full set (9 different die pairings), but three of those die marriages do not specifically state "Rico" or "Colorado" on either side.
Reportedly, the silver used for all of them was mined in the Rico area.
Here are the other three die pairs (the top one does have a "mountain" reference):
