Knicks Championship jersey… which to purchase.

I am going to purchase one of these , I know they are overpriced. I can afford both. I just don’t know which one. I plan on holding on to it unless I needed to sell for some reason.

The $7500 is authentic jersey and 1/25 the $5000 is swingman 1/500.

  1. I had originally wanted it to be authentic. Is it worth it to spend $2500 more on the authentic? Are either of these going to depreciate so much in value that I am going to regret paying this much.

I am not a serious collector. This is for personal satisfaction , I have money but am cautious with it. For example I would be okay for the $5000 to drop to $2-3k. But if you guys tell me the authentic is 10x superior is likely to be worth $5k plus then I can justify buying it.

Personally I believe the $5000 piece should be authentic to start off with , I know I’m getting suckered. That’s my hesitation.

What does the front look like? Do they have the NBA finals logo?

There is no picture of the front but it should have it on the left side.

I doubt they'll hold their value and pieces like this are tough to sell because of their bulk. However, you might be able to sell it in 20 or 30 years for a decent amount.

That said, I would say the authentic is not worth the extra money. You won't notice that much of a difference in the quality of the jerseys when they're on display and you get the same signatures (apparently). And I would say my opinion is doubly confirmed by the fact that you're questioning the money. Even if you can afford it, if you're hesitating on the amounts, get the swingman.

Get the cheaper one, they’re virtually the same thing. When you go to sell either one in 10-20 years you’ll get the same $1500 for it. Lol

It appears the autographed are photoshopped since they are exactly the same on both jerseys. I would want to see the final product before I made that big of a financial decision. The location, color and quality of autographs may vary greatly.

Thank you for the responses. I won’t know what the finished product looks like. They are both almost sold out and they are preorder for December. Fanatics is really cashing out.

One last point. Does the more limited production 1/25 vs. 1/500 add any value?

Not unless there a tag on the jersey. Is there a tag or number on the jersey that says limited to 25 or 500? Otherwise, you could buy the same jersey and take it to Fanatics Fest and get the same guys to sign it.

I called them to get some more information. Yes the jerseys will be physically numbered. The guy also said no guarantee but both jerseys will also be signed by the coach and 2-3 additional players.

The downside he said both jerseys will have no championship patches on them. He said the problem is sourcing that many championship jerseys and authentic jerseys.
