WTB: 1893 Columbian Exposition elongated coins
Not quite sure where to post this, as technically elongated coins turn into "tokens" once they are no longer acceptable as currency (I think that's right?). And there were non-US coins that were pressed as well....
Anyway, I am not a coin-collector (I come from the world of baseball cards...), but I've started a collection of pressed coins from the 1893 World's Fair / Columbian Exposition in Chicago. It seems these were much more plentiful than they are now. I'm currently eyeing ebay....but I'm not sure if there's other good places I should be hunting for these. Anyway, I'd love to find more raw, affordable examples for my collection, if anyone can point me in a good location. Thanks!

They are fun to collect. I have several in my collection. Here is a good reference of the different types.

Oh thanks. Yeah, that's a site I've got bookmarked. I'm also halfway through reading "Devil in the White City", after being on my to-do list for a decade....

eBay is probably the way to go for these, although the prices have gone up a lot. A bunch of years ago these were regularly selling raw in the $20 range, and I bought about 20 at similar prices before I got tired of hoarding. Slabbed examples at Heritage have sold at a wide range of prices over the last few years, from $70 to $300+.
Ok thanks. And let me know if you get tired of hoarding your hoard.
