2026 Mint Set Mintage Boost?

I just saw the email from the US Mint Updates page that the 2026 Mint set is available (again) for preorder, so I went to check it out and saw that the total product limit is now 300,000. If I'm not mistaken, the previous product limit at the time of the last preorder window was 190,000. Is this an additional 300k mint sets, still at that unbelievable $124.50, or is the full total now projected to be that 300,000 number? My other question is, is it normal for the Mint to bump production numbers during the year? I imagine the resellers who bought these sets in quantity during the first preorder period are rather miffed!
Also, I wondered how many of y'all have purchased the mint set this year at the new price point, given that it's the 250th year edition and the only way to get the 2026 P&D Lincoln Cent?
Thanks!

Just got an email from the Mint that subscriptions are open for this set. I already cancelled mine as it’s not worth it to me personally. I’m glad that anyone that wants one can get a couple, though.
That's a good point! Hopefully in a few years the resale value will drop enough that more people can get them at a reasonable price.
As with most things from the Mint, people don't want things that are easily available. These never should have been flip candidates in the first place. They should be making them to demand, and pricing them at around $30.
But, after seeing what happened last year, with all the hype over the possibility that they contained the last cents, the secondary market went nuts, and the Mint took notice. So they jacked the price up to $124.50, AND apparently raised the mintage to 300K
So now they are easily available, at a very inflated price that is sure to kill any possible flip, and the Mint will have likely killed the Golden Goose.
Maybe. Maybe not. If the price combined with the maximum mintage sufficiently kills demand now, the resale value won't be dropping so much in the future, since there will be a relatively small amount available for resale.
The current issue of Coin World says that 146K subscriptions were sold as of two weeks ago. No way another 155K are going to be gobbled up when released by people who didn't subscribe. In fact, it is far more likely that lots of people cancel lots of subscriptions in response to the increased mintage.
There is always a chance they will not make 300K available for sale, because they have short struck lots of things in the recent past. But, if they do make 300K available for sale, they will be unlikely to ever sell out at $124.50 each.
There's a whole thread on these that has discussed all of these things.
