I have some idea - it’s non-alien in nature and likely post-strike damage.

Looks to me to be an old staple scratch. I’d have to see it in hand to be sure.
That was my first thought although I'm not sure if I would call it "old". It may be fairly recent.

The line looks like a disruption in the toning/tarnish on the coin vs a scratch imo?
I have a graded CC with a similar anomaly, where the only true damage (to my eyes) is the scrape/abrasion at the top of the line through the ear (white arrow). Below the ear in the hair, it seems to settle into a disruption in the toning vs the metal?
But what do I know, just an observation, a guess.

I rubbed my finger across the line but can't feel anything. I tried rubbing it off, as if something was left on the coin, but it wouldn't rub off. I also put a fingernail across it but it doesn't feel like a scratch. It's wierd.
