REA Marketplace

Just utilized the marketplace feature from REA(Robert Edward Auctions) the first time last week, and wanted to share some feedback from my experience. About a month or so ago I had posted some 1976 Topps packs for sale on a few different platforms - eBay, Facebook, and even on this site on the Buy/sell/trade marketplace. Unfortunately, I did not receive a lot of offers, and the only ones I received were from a few large unopened dealers but could not agree on the price.

Fast forward to a week ago, and I spoke with Calvin at REA about the packs and he suggested utilizing their marketplace feature. In addition to their auctions the marketplace puts items up for sale on their site where people can see them as well as have the opportunity to purchase them. I sent the packs off about 10 to 12 days ago to them, and worked with Tyler on the transaction. I shipped the packs to them following their instructions, and they listed the items on their site last Wednesday around 8 PM. Despite getting really no credible offers on the other platforms I surprisingly got a notice two hours later that I had an offer on the packs that was number wise was a few hundred less than my full asking price that I wanted. A few minutes later I get a notice that the packs had sold for the full price on their site. Couple days later they let me know the check is in the mail and everything was done.

I have used REA in the past for auctions, but was really not aware of the marketplace feature until a couple of weeks ago. My feedback is that I was very impressed with how thorough they were in handling every aspect of the transaction, and based on this experience I will definitely be sending them some PSA graded singles in the near future when I’m ready to sell. If anyone is trying to move some items I would suggest taking a look at their platform.👍 hope this information is helpful, and if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

I typically like their auctions quite a bit and have always had great service buying things from them that way.

I recently started getting their emails about the Marketplace but honestly haven't had a chance to even click or look at the site. Glad to hear it's run well. (I was a little worried your email was going to veer into a cautionary tale before it ended)

As a seller it's pretty good. They take 5% fee which is way less than most sites.

Thanks for the note and a few more details.

Yes the fee is 5% to the seller which is very favorable considering eBay is 13% or more and AH’s can be higher.

Payment depends on when the buyer pays, and in my case they paid within 48 hours. My check showed up electronically and I already have it in hand.

Service was excellent and they helped every step of the way. I texted Tyler and he got back with me within 15 minutes. No big deal right except unbeknownst to me he was on vacation at the time and still got back with me. Once I knew he was on vacation I was able to contact someone else and was taken care of immediately. One of the calling cards of REA is their outstanding and personal customer service. They have helped me land several grail cards as well as provide advice on a variety of areas dealing with cards.

Glad I could help some folks out by sharing my experience.

Wow - glad that worked out so well Keith. Congratulations buddy.

How much per pack is the PSA grading fee?

I would consider but haven't sold anything since the Carter administration. 😎

I had some success auctioning graded cards with them in 2023. A few cards fell a bit short on expectations, a few hit current levels, and a few exceeded the high price for the grade at that time, while not needing a sticker to enhance their appeal. All with the 5% fee.

Overall, satisfied. Recommend for a smooth ride.
