These are some of my spare Kennedys up for sale on Great Collections this Sunday 10 May 2026. The first is a 1967 Kennedy in MS 67. The photo on the GC website looks very washed out. This is the original PCGS TV photo and is very a very accurate representation of the colors. I'm only selling this as I already have one in MS 67+.
The first 1969 Kennedy is an MS 67 which is a good representation of an MS 67 coin of this year. The 1969 and 1970 are the two toughest coins to make in high grades. This one has some toning.
The next 1969 coin has some pretty toning but is only graded as an MS 66.
The last coin is a 1982-P is in MS 66+. This year is also tough to make in higher grades as well. But this coin is the harder to make with the no "FG" on the reverse. I was the actual person to "make" the discovery coin and it can be seen in the 2012 book by Rick Tomaska. In addition to this discovery coin, I have many other of my Kennedy half dollars in his book. Including at the back of his book, mine are the only two nicely toned Kennedy half dollars that he has included in is book and placed into the back of the book.
The discovery coin was an MS 65 and was called a mint error with darker toning. I still have that coin. But PCGS doesn't annotate "discovery coin" on the holder. Since PCGS was the first company to grade them, there are no other companies with "discovery coin" on the holder. Plus there are some other coins such as Lincolns, Jeffersons, Roosevelts and Washingtons. Good luck. Ray
