Has anyone seen another D2 50c cancelled die? From what i am seeing, most are D4. Any info you can share would be appreciated.

    What does D2 and D4 refer to? Just the serial number?

  • D2 is the mint and year. I can't find another example.

    D2 means Denver 1992

  • Mr. Weinberg, thank you for posting. Are there fewer 50c dies from that year and mint? I can't find much information on this.

    There’s no breakdown by year – but the vast majority were dated 1994, some 1993;
    I do recall seeing some 1992’s but there were very few of that date – this applies to all denominations cent through dollars that I purchased directly from the Denver Mint.
