Louisville Slugger Frito-Lay MVP Bats

I do a horror movie podcast with a friend of mine and I am always looking for toys or trading cards in the movies. This week we are doing Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers and there is a scene with a Louisville Slugger bat. I first saw there was a signature on it and was trying to find to see if I could figure out whose name was on the bat, but then I noticed something else. Frito-Lay MVP was on it. So I figured this had to be a give away or something as I do remember getting wooden bats at Phillies games as a kid.

So now I am not only trying to figure out whose name is on it but what a Frito-Lay MVP bat is and how you would have had to obtain this. This movie was released in 1988 so it is most likely from a team in CA around that time.

If anyone knows who the name is or what a Frito-Lay MVP was or how you would have come across this bat when it was produced, I'd appreciate any info.

For anyone who also likes sports or sports memorabilia in movies, if you haven't seen Slumber Party Massacre, spread out over a few scenes, the girls try to figure out how the Dodgers scored all of their runs. Based on the information give, I was able to determine that the game took place on Sunday, May 17th 1981.

One of the script supervisors on the movie was Jesse Long.
It could be his personal item used as a movie prop.

I am also wondering if this is something made special for the movie.

Years ago, through an ad in "Baseball Digest" I ordered a bat for my son with his name on it. I think it was a Louisville Slugger.

I'll never forget the look on his face when I gave it to him. "HEY THAT'S MY NAME!"
