Unique Penny Worth Anything?
This is one of my most unique coins out of my collection. At a certain angle it looks like the date is 1984 but not too easy to see. Curious to get the thoughts of some others more experienced than me on this coin. Is it worth anything?

Although it's a bit counter-intuitive, unique items tend NOT to be worth anything, since nobody cares to collect them. The items with value tend to be the ones that are rare but not unique, so they have an audience of people who are trying to find one.
The good news is that your coin is not unique! It's an excellent example of a mid-to-late-stage brockage. If you listed it on eBay, it might sell for $50-$100.
Congrats!
FWIW, there's a mostly-similar example at https://www.ebay.com/itm/287097552526, although the brockage on that one is off-center. Your centered brockage is the more usual presentation.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/196046281110 is more similar to the OP's example, although you can't tell anything from the price on that one since it hasn't found a buyer at that level.
Oh yeah! Two thumbs up.
Yes, it’s a legitimate mint error. But I don’t have the patience to determine whether it’s a brockage, counter-brockage or a combination!
Legit!
Super cool.
Congratulations.
Neat find, for sure.
Brockages are mirrored and incuse. Counterbrockages are non-mirrored and raised. Unless the OP did something outstandingly weird with the picture, that's a brockage.
DO NOT CLEAN IT!!
Thank you all for your quick responses. Definitely helpful
Judging by the designer's initials, it's a 1973.
I would add no matter how much you might be tempted to "improve" it's appearance do not polish it either.
Einstein’s view of God was non-traditional and pantheistic, focusing on the harmony, order, and intelligibility of the cosmos rather than a personal deity. His quotes reveal a profound respect for the universe’s mysteries, a belief in rational laws, and a moral philosophy grounded in compassion and understanding, bridging science and spirituality.
“My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind.”
Albert Einstein (14 March 1879--18 April 1955)
Don’t drill a hole through it either. 😉
