I just saw something on Temu, which I hardly ever look at:
ARE THESE REAL or COUNTERFEIT?

Its sort of disturbing, but there are some pretty authentic looking coins on Temu as well, which are ridiculously cheap. Counterfeiting is on the rise. I figure Baseball Cards are a lot easier to counterfeit
I would stay away. Best case scenario if the cards are real, you have a 1 in 598 chance of a star card, so you are paying $30 for a common card most likely. Again, best case scenario is if the cards are real. The seller is selling these cards in "slabs" but these cards were never authenticated by a reputable third party grading company (PSA, SGC, Beckett, etc).
buying O-Pee-Chee (OPC) baseball cards
also collecting US & Canadian silver coins
Im sure many will fall for this scam. But after all this is a hobby where many don't seem to care if a card has been trimmed...

Its fake for sure. I don't know how many people know about this scam, so spread the word. People especially uninformed newer collectors should know these are super-difficult valuable cards that are being counterfeited.
The "vanity slab" market is on the rise with cards manufactured as reproductions. I've done business with at least one eBay dealer who seems to be specializing in the sale of these cards. The purchases I made though, were vintage raw cards and authentic. The repros they're selling include a description of the card as non-authentic. Many people won't bother to read or just won't care about it, especially those who have further intentions of reselling the cards as something other than fake.
