Tmac is a top 5 player in the league...but he is not more complete than Kobe. 1. He's not that great of a defender, a few impressive blocked shots does not mean anything. He constantly over plays a player to try to get the blocked shot...that leaves guards going around him all day. Who has Tmac shut down on d lately? certainly not Baron!

2. He doesn't have every shot in the book...the cat can only drive and dunk and shoot 3's. Once teams need to shut him down they will the way they did Carter. Right now, Tmac can score 50 and Orlando would prolly still lose. Teams will close down those lanes and Tmac will have to develop the mid range shot. Kobe on the other hand can go to his left hand, right hand, and score from anywhere on the floor. 3. Tmac disappears down the stretch too often. How many times has Tmac blown a last second shot? Like I said.. when defenders close off the lanes in critical situations Tmac must rely on his j and he just doesnt have confidence in his j yet. On passing, both are about equal. On rebounding Tmac has the advantage because Kobe plays on a team full of rebounders (shaq, walker, horry, fox). A debate can be made that Tmac is a better player than Kobe simply because teams cant stop him from driving to the basket. Ok, I can take that...but saying that he is more complete than Kobe is wrong....but as I said before, eventually teams will close those lanes...and to everyone who brings up the double team issue, neither player gets double teamed a lot....With kobe and tmac... teams basically have a defender play tough and give help when they penetrate. Watch the games and you will see...Kobe is a far better player and more complete.

While Tracy is a quality player, he does measuer up to the magnitude that Jordan played at. Jordans first year in the league he lead teh league in scoring and it took McGrady like 3 seasons just to add up to that total in Points. That there alone says a ton!

I think with a healthy Grant Hill, Orlando would have been one of the top teams in the East. T-Mac carried the team on his back all year (guess that's why it was hurting so much).

Look at Kobe's game and look at Tmac's. Stats dont tell it all of course...but Kobe is on a team with rebounders, and good defenders...Tmac isnt. So of course Tmac's stats are gonna be a little bit better. Further, Kobe has 3 rings. What does he have to prove every night? He doesn't have to go all out to gain respect. Who is clutch and who is not? Can Tmac go as effectively to left as to the right? Can he hit midrange jumpers like Kobe? Can he do a spin on your ass and leave you on the ground praying for the jumper to rim out? I haven't even seen Tmac bust a nice fadeaway...and does Tmac have a crossover? no, no, no, and no. Like I said, I dont have a problem with people saying Tmac is a BETTER player than kobe; thats a discussion worth while...although he's NOT better...but Tmac is in no wayyyyyyyyyy a more complete player.

Well Orlando isn't in the West buddy.....hence in the weak East they would be near the top. Look a team like the Nets...even the Celtics came out of nowhere...and the Bucks who were suppose to win the East didn't even make the playoffs. The East (yes there is another conference other than the one the Lakers are in) is very wide open and any team can come out on top. With a second option like Grant Hill (use to be a first option) Orlando can cause alot of damage...make it to the finals and lose to whoever wins from that side (Kings, Lakers, Dallas etc)

Tmac is one year younger than Kobe I believe. When Kobe was 18 years old, he was an all-defensive player!! The youngest of all-time...if some of you couldnt see my inference then let me explain. When the game goes down to the wire, defenses get tougher...because Tmac cant crosss anyone over, because he cant bust a fadeaway, because when he's around the basket he can only dunk (not see angles for layups like kobe can). He cant score...the defenses take away Tmac's bread and butter and he's toast...and why didn't some of you respond to the my point that Tmac can't do a whole lot of things Kobe can? and I hate it when people say the Lakers are nothing without Shaq...True but the team is built around shaq...not Kobe. From Hunter to Horry, the guys are built to take advantage of shaq's game. Nuff said. This discussion is lame...it's a no-brainer.
