My guess is no cc verification and potentially prone to abuse of HH order limits. Who knows.
It sure made quick checkout possible though.
Happy April 1st.
Impossible to know as they didn’t explain. There does seem to be the possibility the restriction may be temporary by the “until further notice”.

Almost everything in life was always "subject to change" or "until further notice". Its just that now it happens far more often.
using my CC through paypal was the only way I could get cash back rewards from mint purchases. hopefully they bring it back!
I got the same email
Why can't you use the CC directly?

their rewards program excludes us mint purchases (elan financial) so my guess is they block the merchant code from the US Mint directly but they don't block paypal. time for a new card!
I've got my CC saved on their website so checkout is fast> @Rc5280 said:
Yeah I probably should have thought that with an email from the mint that started with:
Dear Valued Customer,
I get the 2% cash back rewards on my CapitalOne SPARK Business VISA. And interestingly, when I refund an EBay purchase they charge it to that card and I get the 2% but all payments come to me through a bank transfer, so I make a small amount on refunds.
The email did state it was temporary. I wonder if they are dealing with a lot of cancellations for this reason which I experienced several times: At Paypal, for US mint purchases I specified which payment method to use. However, when I placed an order at USMint website using Paypal, it took the funds from my bank account rather than using my CC which I was not prepared for. I hope they are fixing this.
