The 2026 Gold Proof Buffalo has something missing on the obverse

Besides the obvious changes to the date and adding a privy mark, the obverse also has another thing changed to it within the design itself. Can anyone else here point it out??

Will the 2026 coins ship like this?

The bullion 2026 coins do not have this change.

Where the ribbon ends? I'm thinking that's more of a result of the rendering the mint is using and we'll have to wait to see the actual coins before assessing if a change was truly made.

my understanding is that not all coins will get the duel date. i heard 25,000 were going to have it. others will chime in

Yes that is what I see as well. The upper part is also missing.

Maybe the 2025 has three notches at the end of the top feather and the 2026 has only two?

The 2026 head sure is lifeless.

The '26 picture looks like it has the similar ASE-Philly "frosting".

The computer rendering will give you whatever finish you want.

That's better than what the Mint puts out.

The proof buffalo has hammered fields so it will never have an appearance like that. The mint's image prompts me to wonder if it's going to be an "Enhanced" proof.

All of you fellow old timers who remember when Buffalo nickels were still in circulation….. think how different our collecting experience would have been had the date on the 1913 Type Two and on nickels been where the 1776 is here.

Would have been a lot less acid used.
