Buyer did the empty box scam on me - PM me for the id

Buyer pulled the empty box scam on a return, he took advantage of ebays 3-day auto refund policy. It was a low dollar box so I just refunded. PM for the ID.

    That sucks, scammers everywhere!

Why I avoid any high dollar lots, Happened to me with a lot of t206’s a couple years ago. It didn’t go through AG with eBay because it was a lot so the buyer said the box was empty even though it was registered mail! (Jewelry shop in Boston) After that my lots get consigned and will only sell cards if it goes through AG!

This is the second time it happened to me over the many years on ebay, so I'm not panicked. However it does make me rethink about higher value boxes. Looking at his feedback, there were some signs that I should have been more careful but again it was a low dollar box.

Yes I agree AG is great on high dollar singles as long as it doesnt get pilfered at the Santa Ana post office.

Horrible. Sorry this happened to you both.

    Who do you consign with?

  • Why wouldn't you just post it here. Why so secret?

I have used 4Sharp and BBCE recently with good results. I tend to send singles to 4Sharp and boxes to BBCE. I plan to look at other services like Goldin, PSA, and Fanatics Collect for the premium cards I have.
