Q/A Weird experience yesterday

Yesterday I received a typical EBay message in my email.
It was a guy asking about my 52 mick 2 and if was for sale.
So I responded back - who is this?
He says he is a vintage collector and had sets on the registry and was looking for one available in a grade 2
So- I try finding him on the site and others with no wtb threads- raise flags?
So I politely responded with a few suggestions elsewhere to look- auction houses

Anyone know is this how PSA message system works?? Using eBay? Does not seem right.
His username was rogerclemens21
Not saying he isn’t legit - don’t know him or how the message thing works now

What is the PSA Message system? I only know of PSA Offers on cards in my PSA Vault -- but those are right within the PSA App (or PSA Online Website when viewing my collection in the vault).

It looks like this when viewing my items in the PSA Vault

If your card is in the registry your email address is usually linked to your set, unless you have it hidden.
